Ever Used Spiral Tree Guards?

Are these any good?

We have found the little farm tree bags invaluable for protecting our farm seedlings from all sorts of stress. The survival rate has gone up a lot, and the little trees are thriving.

We are thinking about using Spiral Tree guards next time, as they can expand with the growth of the tree. Has anyone out there ever used them? How did they go, and are there right or wrong applications or types of spiral tree guard out there? What were they most useful for?

Different tree guards
by: Apulia Grove

We have just been recommended a different type of tree guard to try to guard our olive trees against hare attack. They are made of opaque white plastic and look like a rolled up poster so they can expand with the tree as well. Is this what you mean by spiral tree guard? Our friends who recommended them have had great success, so we're keen to give them a go as well. I'm interested in the tree guards that you fill with water to drip irrigate the trees as well but have yet to try them.
