How can I help my sick Rooster?

A rooster showed up in my yard over a month ago, probably fell off a poultry truck. I have fed him and made a place for him in our old shed. 4 days ago I couldn't find him, but on the 2nd day we found him under a piece of equipment in the shed. He can not stand, no visible injuries found. He won't eat, but I am able to get him to take in sugar water. He can't drink unless I hold it for him. I try to keep him clean, and dry with new straw. How can I help him?

There is not much you can do

I know this sounds harsh but I would suggest that you put him out of his misery. Poultry die of all sorts of things and without taking him to a vet and running up bills there is no way of telling what is wrong with him. In a lot (but not all) cases poultry deaths just comes back to survival of the fittest. It is nature’s way of ensuring that only the fittest or most disease resistant go on to procreate the breed.
As my great uncle used to say, “While you have live ones you will have dead ones,” and he was a very successful animal breeder.
