Indonesia, Bali, Ubud- $150,000.00 USD

(Ubud, Bali, Indonesia )

This spacious, sustainably built clayhouse was completed in the spring of 2015. It offers a 360 degree view of Unesco World Heritage rice fields near Tampaksiring (30 minutes north of Ubud). Because this special property is part of the protected Subak by Unesco, there will be no new building of resorts, hotels or restaurants. The property has a leasehold for the next 25 years, which can be extended. The land size is 12 acres. There is plenty of space to have a garden and a pool to enhance the enjoyment of this unique home. This home consists of a large room (104 m2), an open air bathroom with a small stone garden, a good size storage room with a washing machine and generous shelving. There are also 2 loft spaces (40 m2) with beautiful views. Total room space is 220 m2.

Because the walls are 3m high, this house has easy potential to create more rooms and/or a second floor. There is an 18x 3m porch which extends out from the house where you can see the lush rice fields and the daily village life. In creating this sustainable home a waste water garden system cleans the gray and black water.

Built by an artist and used as his home studio, this house was inspired by the Japanese style of Wabi Sabi, based on the beauty of simplicity.

This property would be ideal for creating a permaculture farm or artistic community of sorts.
