Picking Batteries for Reconditioning

by Teresa
(Vienna, Il, USA)

We are setting up a small farm to be self sustainable in s ilinois, and I have a few questions as we go if you do not mind. We are installing a solar system for electric use, and are collecting used deep cycle golf cart batteries to recondition. My question is; what is the minimum voltage reading on a 'bad' battery that can be reconditioned using a desulfater and replacing some of the fluid with epsom salts and distilled water? We will get about 40 batteries when we are finished, so I do not want to waste money if not everything can be reconditioned. Would something thAt reads at 5.75v be able to be reconditioned? for example?
