Preventing over spray from neighboring fields?

by Atarah

I have purchased all of my seeds and potatoes from organic farmers. The only space I have to put my garden is 5 ft away from a cornfields. I do not want to use anything but natural things to keep pests away. I am concerned about the over spray of pesticides and chemicals from the neighboring field. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to cut this down?

MEG: I WOULD FIRST HAVE A POLITE WORD WITH YOUR NEIGHBOR SEEKING COOPERATION, AND IN THE MEANTIME, PLANT A THICK HEDGE OF TOUGH SCREENING WINDBREAK PLANTS.

Overspray and GMO

As meg says, COOPERATION is your best bet. Find out if the corn is GMO and if it is followed by soy find out if it is GMO too. If that fails you might get your neighbors attention by posting signs that read: "WARNING! Organic farm. Chemical and GMO trespass will be prosecuted to the full extent of civil and criminal law."
